Bad weather was the protagonist of the first test session in Jerez de la Frontera, a test in which the Ducati is running with the "Rookies" Hector Barbera and the new test rider Franco Battaini. Even though it didn't rain much, the wet asphalt ruined Ducati's plans for this three-day test. However, both the Italian and the Spaniard Hector Barbera toured trying to carry out the planned programme. Barbera has done many laps on the Ducati Desmosedici to get used to the power of the MotoGP, power that to date only Casey Stoner has managed to fully exploit.

The Spaniard had two bikes at his disposal, one of which with the 2010 solutions tested in the tests after the Valencia race by Casey Stoner. For the next few days the pilots are hoping for good weather and the forecast is positive.

Hector Barbera 1.50.5 (35 laps): “This first day of testing in Jerez was very positive, because I rode in the water, and I achieved a decent time. I quickly adapted to the track conditions, and the changes we made. It was a shame because we have a lot of things to try in the dry and we weren't able to do that. In any case, I am very satisfied with the sensations of this first day. Filming with water is always difficult, so that's reason enough to be happy. I lapped in 1.50.5, I think it's a good time. Here in Jerez, the circuit is very different from Cheste, I noticed that the bike has a lot of power, and incredible traction. Every time I get on my Ducati my feeling increases and I like riding it, I think the signals are very good. The day was short, because when the rain stopped coming down, the track wasn't completely dry, so it would have been stupid to risk falling."
