MotoGP | IRTA Thailand Test Day 3: Rossi, “It was a complicated test, it's like playing cards”

Contrasting opinions between Rossi and Vinales, meanwhile Zarco is enjoying it

MotoGP | IRTA Thailand Test Day 3: Rossi, “It was a complicated test, it's like playing cards”MotoGP | IRTA Thailand Test Day 3: Rossi, “It was a complicated test, it's like playing cards”

MotoGP Movistar Yamaha Test Thailand Buriram – A more confident Valentino Rossi spoke at the end of the three-day test at the Chang International Circuit Buriram, in Thailand.

The Yamaha rider from Pesaro, despite not going beyond the tenth time, seems to be more positive compared to yesterday, even if there are still some problems related to the electronics of his Yamaha M1 and above all to the tyres, which can change from one session to the next words from #46 “the cards on the table”. Today's time could have been better without an error at the last corner, here's his analysis.

“It was a complicated test, but today it went a little better, especially in the afternoon, where we had some things to test. It was important to try everything and in the end I was quite fast in the last hour. I lapped in 1'30 and 5, but I was wide at the last corner, so I could have done 1'30 and 2, not a bad time. The fact remains that it was hard, that we suffered enough and that everyone is going strong. Just like last year, things can change from morning to afternoon, let alone from one day to the next. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's not, it's not easy."

What do you think is the most competitive bike at the moment?

“At the moment the best bikes are the Hondas, with Marquez, Crutchlow and Pedrosa, while the Ducati has done a bit of ups and downs like us. We'll see in Qatar, hoping to be more competitive.”

What grade would you give yourself after these tests?

“These are questions that are usually asked at the end of the year, now I don't know? Are you saying enough? Well, at least I didn't fail.”

Is there more concern or confidence after the closure of these tests?

“Honestly, yesterday I was more worried. The biggest problem is that you never know what to expect. The morning is fine, the afternoon is bad, the next day is still different, it's like playing cards. We'll see how we fare in Qatar. It's a very strange situation, it only happened to me last year in my entire career. In 2016 there were already Michelins but it wasn't bad, now everything can change from one day to the next. We know we have to work on the electronics, but there won't be anything new in the next test. Until then we will have to rely on fate."

What is surprising at Yamaha is the difference in opinions between Rossi and Vinales. Yesterday the rider from Pesaro was the most pessimistic, with the Spaniard very confident, today the exact opposite happened. Click here to read Vinales' statements.

Yamaha will therefore have to decide who to follow in terms of development, meanwhile the fastest is the Frenchman Johann Zarco, who is increasingly comfortable astride the 1 M2016. Click here to read Zarco's statements.

Don't worry Taliban, specifications for the new bike given by him, development of the new bike in his hands... everything is under control.

Rossophobes, Yamaha is missing the super test rider Lorenzo who in Ducati with his instructions returned to test the GP 17 because he was doubtful, and the great Zarco who proclaimed the 1 M2017 has returned with his tail between his legs to the 1 M2016.
    You are fantastic.

I also copy and paste it in perfect “Talebans” style:

And what if it was just that Zarca is going fast because he is an excellent rider and knows how to set up this(these...) bike better than the two officials??
Does this hypothesis not come to mind?

Your total dedication to the Rossi cause is touching, but they are just tests, don't be discouraged, as Valentino said when he arrived at Ducati "I'll fix it in 80 seconds..."
    The same thing will happen!

    1. nandop6 said:

You see that copy and paste is not a bad thing, it serves to make it clear that your opinions are not worth a penny.

Rossophobes, you will see that Rossi and Vinales, to go fast, will call Zarcò to have the bikes set up, they will also have him develop the 2018.

In my opinion Rossi is asking Loprenzo for set up advice

In short, if in past years he asked Loprenzo for the set up you will see that he is also doing it today..
then we know that in Yamaha they are all idiots who pay someone just because he copies the set ups and nothing goes wrong
For me they should take on two or three anti-red genes that populate these pages and you'll see the results

      hahahaahaha

Don't worry, you guys, Rossi will Anala you to the liver again this year

Yamaha has 3 problems in my opinion
zarco: with his statements he embarrasses the official riders and the Yamaha team, the times he says say that he is not talking nonsense and he increasingly puts the official team in crisis in search of performance in a very short time....
Rossi: there's no point in denying it, he suffered a lot from the arrival of maverick and blocked his way before he started to win, he asked and got to transform the bike to such an extent that now they no longer know which way to go, more than a Yamaha it looks like a bike that has just entered Moto GP that needs to be improved from every point of view
maverick: he's not well he has no power he can only suffer

Yamaha is hurting itself by keeping a Rossi who won't resign himself to quitting, he seems like Lorenzo's brother....we'll see if the season agrees with me or you

    1. ueueue said:

      1) you have even more problems

      2) I take up the previous post... in my opinion Rossi is asking Loprenzo for set up advice
In short, if in past years he asked Loprenzo for the set up you will see that he is also doing it today..
then we know that in Yamaha they are all idiots who pay someone just because he copies the set ups and nothing goes wrong

      hahahaahaha

Don't worry, you guys, Rossi will Anala you to the liver again this year
      3) if the solution were simple, Maverik would return to Yamaha with which he won the three initial races... but since you can't understand that that was a flash in the pan of Yamaha performance (not Maverik's) I'll tell you it is said to do.

4)Zarco is also cool, and the fast lap is fine, but if you remember the problem was preserving the tyre

the 2016 was better on the flying lap and shredded the tyres
the 2017 was better in this respect it was thought.

in light of the facts, going back to 2016 or 2017 is not progress for anyone, not even for Zarco because both Rossi and Maverick have already followed the same path as him so it means that they are both rubbish considering they would have had the whole year to improve the bike.
Then if you want to blame only Rossi, sit down, only you believe it
You only end up placing blame, you don't see that instead there are two teams working only to improve Yamaha.
It's not that Maverick can't improve otherwise he'll disfigure Rossi or vice versa, get the hell out of your butt and think about it.
Honda and Ducati are better now, Yamaha practically lost a year by coming out with the 2017 which at the beginning seemed like a big change (supported by both riders)..

      Go Vale!

Tony do you realize what you're saying?

Rossi: there's no point in denying it, he suffered a lot from the arrival of maverick and blocked his way before he started to win, he asked and got to transform the bike to such an extent that now they no longer know which way to go, more than a Yamaha it looks like a bike that has just entered Moto GP that needs to be improved from every point of view

I wanted to put your words because if I say that Rossi deliberately boycotted Yamaha so as not to let Vinales win, you say that I misrepresented, but that's what you support from these lines.
Zarca tries to do fast laps while Vinales and Rossi test for development and after making proclamations on the 1 M2017 he chose the 2016.
What embarrasses is not Zarca but your comments.

      1. TONYKART said:

it means that if it's as you say, the first race will see Rossi and maverick fighting for the victory and that bluff of Zarco who will end up in the rear, we'll talk again after the first races and then we'll continue this discussion.....

      2. nandop6 said:

Tony, as usual, you have your way, I didn't say that the Yamaha is the best bike or that Zarco is a pi..pa, in fact if you read I wrote that he could be the strongest rider in the history of the world championship, the I said a bit jokingly, I admit it but I really think he's strong, it's his bullshit statements that I don't like also because he then took it all back. Do one thing, look at you after GP on Moto Punto It, they analyze the latest tests and they find me in agreement with everything they say, it's interesting then let me know.

look, these two don't understand a c@zz@, it's useless to answer... a nice valem@rd@ and start again with momentum!!!

      4. TONYKART said:

ahahah fatman, in the end I always try to find a compromise between what I think and what they believe, however after the GP I follow him too and I like zam who I find very democratic and polite for a Reds fan, regarding the considerations on yamaha I don't totally agree on dumping the problem on the electronic part, let's not forget that the electronics also work based on how the tires make the frame work, if due to the frame and its adjustments the mechanical grip is missing or if it destroys quite quickly due to how the chassis makes the tires work, it is logical that in any of the two cases the electronics intervene and give the impression of being invasive and poorly set, instead it is only compensating for the problems caused by the chassis....
