MotoGP Test IRTA Sepang Day 2 Movistar Yamaha – Valentino Rossi said he was very satisfied with the second day of IRTA testing of the MotoGP class in Sepang.

The Yamaha rider from Pesaro achieved the second fastest time, just 35 thousandths behind the leader, his team-mate Maverick Vinales.

The 1 M2018, which is based on the 2016 chassis, has so far kept the 9-time world champion happy. The #46 completed 39 laps, the best on lap 38, 1:59.390. The Pesaro native used the 1997 replica helmet to celebrate his 20 years with AGV. The word is up to him.

“The new bike, as already mentioned, is based on the 2016 frame, but there has been an evolution and today I tried a slightly different frame. Tomorrow maybe I'll go back to the other version, it wasn't obvious to go back to the old chassis, but in the November tests we saw that it was better and for this reason we decided to use it as a basis.”

Rossi then talked about Day 2, where as mentioned he achieved the second fastest time.

“Today was another good day, because I had a good feeling with the bike all day, I was always competitive, also in terms of pace. We are much faster on used tires than in 2017, which is very important. The fight is close, we are all close, so we must pay attention to all the details if we want to keep up. The season has just started, but it is important to start well. In 2017 we started badly and then experienced a season with many ups and downs. We had a lot of problems. If you start positively, it's more enjoyable.”

Rossi tested the new fairing, here are his feelings. “The front tire has more load, there is more downforce. In the corners you feel the front tire better, I don't see any disadvantages.”

Rossi then spoke about the helmet used. “Agv told me that 20 years have passed since my first title victory. So we went back to the 1997 project and I like it. I wore it to get some photos.”

MotoGP, Zarco: I can't be as fast as I want
The chassis worries the Frenchman: if I'm not able to express myself to the fullest with the 2017 one, I'll have to change

But as it was a super chassis, he drove it with more ease, what a blast!!!!

on other blogs, search and you'll see that you find them...

I found that compared to last year, Zarco turned 8 tenths faster with this Yamaha, I think the one who wrote the article you mention is a Rossi fan

      2. whose said:

no, it's you who is mentally deformed and you only look at the flying lap, Zarco expresses himself in race pace, when he says he doesn't have a good feeling, obviously you have long runs....

First I watched the interview with Zarco and he didn't say the words reported in the article you quoted! Zarco limited himself to saying that the new bike is much kinder to the tires and if anything improves further it would be very competitive, then he adds a we'll see!…..I'm deformed, so Zarco looks at the flying lap but what does Rossi look at instead of the longest long run he's done is 6 laps???? ahahahahah based on that you're talking of yamaha reborn?

      4. whose said:

I don't understand if you are there, or you are, the target is that, 6/7 laps.... have you seen the Ducati riders do more??

  • whose said:

He made a bit of a paraqulo, I don't blame him though...

In my opinion Rossi's considerations as well as Zarco's on the 2017 chassis are a bit premature, Rossi and Maverick it's not true that last year they had problems here so I would wait a few races before saying that Yamaha escaped the problems, Zarco first to say that with the 2017 he can do great things, I want to see it, last year Rossi Maverick attempted everything with that bike..

  • whose said:

last year in the tests Vinales apparently didn't, Rossi took more than a second and a half, and said that the bike didn't convince him, but given the times of his teammate, he had some doubts...

the other day Vinales declared, indeed, he has learned that there is no point in setting super times in tests….

  • whose said:

and anyway yes, they are tests, and the journalists ask you how it's going, what they have to answer….

apparently the sensations are good, if you consider that Rossi never seeks performance in tests, but from his words it seems that those times come to him without forcing much

listening to them all seem happy, but even more than last season the gaps will be even narrower, with three tenths of delay you risk starting tenth, plus as usual the tires abandon you if badly interpreted, Zarco and Miller are observed very interesting

    1. whose said:

Yes and then?? let's hope it means a more competitive championship and that there are more people competing for the title... I hope so for Miller, I've always liked him as a rider, I criticized him when he bit off more than he can chew, but he has the right madness…..

Look, if your Rossi is competitive it doesn't bother me at all... for me it's fine if whoever the best wins, but if whoever they want to win wins as happened until 2015 it's not fine...

  • VDS said:

If a championship came out with 8 or 10 riders capable of challenging for victory it would be a spectacle... let's hope so.

  • whose said:

8 or 10 drivers would be a dream, I would be happy with a couple less

Tony you have an unwatchable deformation, anyway I'm glad you mention 2015, it means you didn't like it too….

  • TONYKART said:

Cujo I give up on you, on the other hand if you weren't like that you weren't a reds fan...

    1. whose said:

but who are you?? but if you need an interpreter with you, you never understand a thing about what you write...
