The morning of the Irta tests on Day 1 in Jerez was "lost" due to the weather. In fact, the heavy rain did not allow the drivers to take to the track except for a few laps and most of the Big Teams remained in the pits.

Only Dani Pedrosa and Andrea Dovizioso took to the prototype track as well as Ducati test rider Michele Pirro (in the photo), while Yonny Hernandez, Hiroshi Aoyama, and Bryan Staring rode for the CRTs.

Pedrosa completed 13 laps, Dovizioso 11 and Pirro 10. Jorge Lorenzo then also took to the track, having only completed 2 laps so far aboard the 1 Yamaha YZR-M2013.
