MotoGP: Irta Jerez Day 2 test, Danilo Petrucci “Two seconds from the first of the MotoGPs isn't bad”

Excellent second day of Irta testing in Jerez for Danilo Petrucci, rider of the Came IodaRacing Project. The rider from Terni checked with the team that the chattering that had slowed him down in Malaysia did not return and which fortunately did not occur on the Andalusian circuit. The 1'41 and a half is his best time on the Spanish track, so he has the say.

“It was a good day, we had to verify what we had reported in Malaysia, such as the chattering. If this problem had arisen again it would have been very serious because it would have been difficult to get rid of. Today we didn't have this problem and we started working immediately with the rear area of ​​the bike; swingarm, shock absorber and link, and in the end we found a nice set-up with the used tyres, so much so that as usual we did more laps than we normally do in the race. Then we put on a new tire and my 41 and a half came out, which for the moment is my best reference on this track. I was first in the CRTs, but I found a driver slower than me and I wasn't able to do better. Tomorrow we will try to improve further. What pleases me is that we are getting closer to the MotoGP and above all we are ahead in the CRT which is becoming a bit like Moto2 in terms of gaps. The first 7-8 are in three tenths, so even a small thing makes a difference. On a track like this the gap between MotoGP and CRT is very small because we are able to exploit our engine a little better, while the GPs struggle to use full power. I believe that at the end of the year the gaps will be these. Two seconds from the first of the MotoGPs isn't bad, this is however a track that puts the CRTs at a lesser disadvantage. In reality we have a lot to do, this was our real first day with the new chassis."
