MotoGP Test Brno: Vinales, “I feel happy on the bike again”

IRTA MotoGP Czech Republic Yamaha test – Very productive day for Maverick Vinales at the Brno tests. The author of third place in Sunday's race closed today's tests with the third fastest time.

The Spaniard tested many innovations: starting with the new fairing, then the new front forks, promoted with flying colors by his teammate, and postponed by the #25. At the riders' disposal, Michelin brought the tires for 2018, but the Yamaha rider preferred not to try them to concentrate on working with the current ones.

These are the words of Maverick Vinales: “We were trying to get more acceleration, which is really important in Austria to get a good lap time. We have improved and I feel happy on the bike again, I'm riding really well. We also tried a lot of things with the electronics that we improved, so I'm quite happy. The Öhlins carbon front forks feel much lighter, but still the effect wasn't what we wanted. We'll try again in Austria and see how we do there. We didn't try the two new front Michelin tires, we wanted to keep the momentum with this tire and keep the best feeling for Austria.”
