MotoGP Test Barcelona: Dovizioso, “I'm satisfied with my pace”

MotoGP Test Barcelona Ducati – Private tests took place over the last two days on the Montmelò circuit. The official Ducati team is also on track, with both riders.

It was an important opportunity for the drivers to use the tire with a stiffer casing, which will be used starting from the Italian Grand Prix. Furthermore, for the first time the drivers lapped with the new circuit layout, modified this winter.

Compared to his teammate, Andrea Dovizioso, he didn't stand out in terms of fast laps, but he was satisfied with the pace he managed to keep. The Barcelona circuit, especially after the changes, could become very difficult for the Borgo Panigale team, which has therefore decided to concentrate more on race anticipation, rather than bringing new material onto the track. The Forlì driver completed 123 laps over the two days.

These are the words of Andrea Dovizioso: “In these two days of testing we lapped a lot, with a temperature that should be similar to what we will find in the race in two weeks, and it was important because we have always struggled on this track in past years. In the end I didn't set a particularly fast lap time but I'm satisfied with my pace. This test was also important to understand the wear of the front tire: Michelin brought several tires to test and we found some good solutions. The track, after the modification to the chicane, is not as beautiful as before, but the track is safer this way."
