Cal Crutchlow he finishes the Barcelona test in 7th place. The British rider from the Monster Tech3 team practically only rode in the afternoon because in the morning he crashed after just two laps, destroying his bike and ending up in a mobile clinic for a check-up. In the afternoon, however, he was able to return to the track and try the innovations brought by Yamaha.

Crutchlow said: “Today I definitely could have started this test in a better way, the accident slowed me down. We had a lot of work to do, but I destroyed the bike already on the second lap. It was my mistake because we knew that there was still water at that point on the track. The problem is that when I passed there you couldn't see the patch of water and as soon as I braked I fell. It was a very fast crash and I injured my right leg and back. Luckily I'm fine and I was able to get back on the bike already in the afternoon. Losing the bike complicated everything because I had several new things to try. If we had two bikes it would have been easier to understand what was right. But I was still good at working hard, using the tires and in the end my pace was also good. I didn't want to push too hard and risk another fall, but I'm sure I could have done a better time than the one I achieved. Now I can't wait to go to Aragon to better test the various modifications brought here by Yamaha.”
