Toni Elias achieved an excellent eighth place today in the British Grand Prix at the Silverstone track which saw Stoner take home his third consecutive victory ahead of Dovizioso and Edwards. As expected, the sixth round of the season was influenced by the typical English weather with torrential rain from the early hours of the morning and low temperatures (11° in the air and only 10° on the asphalt).

Toni Elias lined up in 14th place on the grid after yesterday's qualifying, starting very well and finishing the first lap in 8th place. The Spaniard gave his all despite the treacherous surface and some visibility problems linked to the helmet visor. Elias takes home 8 points in the general classification and will be back on track in Assen on June 25th.

Elias: “I'm quite happy because I was hoping for a wet race to finish in the top ten. I wouldn't have brought home the same result in the event of a dry race because we are still struggling with the set up. However, this is a positive weekend for me and the team because we scored in the points this time too. I could have done better and maybe battled with Rossi and Abraham but after a few laps I started to see everything white because I had some problems with the helmet and a couple of times I had to open the visor. I made a somewhat "courageous" start from 14th place and ended up wide but fortunately I came back to resume my race."

Strange for someone who struggles so much with the set up in the dry who manages to go fast in the wet and yet I remember that Elias's last GP season wasn't that bad after all
