MotoGP Silverstone, FP1: Vinales at the top, Rossi is fourth ahead of Dovizioso

British GP MotoGP Free Practice 1 – Maverick Vinales took the Suzuki to the top of the FP1 time table in the MotoGP class at Silverstone, where the British Grand Prix, the twelfth stage of the 2016 world championship, is scheduled for Sunday.

The Spaniard from the Hamamatsu manufacturer stopped the clock at a time of 2:02.483, 0.282s ahead of his compatriot Jorge Lorenzo, who next year will leave the "saddle" of the Yamaha M1 to go to Ducati, in place of Iannone , with the latter in Suzuki.

Third time for world championship leader Marc Marquez, who crashed without consequences. The Honda rider has a gap of 1.080s from the top and precedes Valentino Rossi, fourth on the second Yamaha of Team Movistar.

The Pesaro native who lapped in 2:03.591, as well as his team-mate Lorenzo, has two bikes at his disposal, one with the "standard" chassis and the other with the "evolution" one tested in the recent Brno tests.

Rossi is ahead of Andrea Dovizioso's Ducati, Pol Espargarò's Yamaha, Andrea Iannone's other Desmosedici GP and Dani Pedrosa's Honda.

The two Team Pramac riders close the Top Ten, Scott Redding is in fact ninth, while Danilo Petrucci is tenth.

Eleventh time for the Brno winner Cal Crutchlow, while the debutant Sam Lowes, who here replaces the injured Bradley Smith aboard the Team Tech 3 Yamaha, is good last at 3.742s from Vinales. For him it was also a slip without consequences.

It should be noted that Vinales and Lorenzo were the only two riders to lap under the "wall" of two minutes and 03 minutes.
