“I'm really satisfied with today's result in qualifying, with the track in difficult conditions with parts still damp, which slowly continued to dry out”, recalls Andrea Dovizioso. “The second row on the starting grid will be important for the progress of the race. I have a good pace, 2'03”3 which could allow me to aspire to finish in the top five positions. We started in the afternoon on a wet track, using soft tyres. Then we switched to a harder solution and in the middle of the session we fitted the intermediate tires with which I did many laps. I felt good, in wet conditions it's a tire that has excellent performance and allows me to be fast. I also managed to make good use of the qualifying tires even though it wasn't easy to switch from the wet to the dry configuration. Tomorrow in the warm up we will have to make the final adjustments to the suspension. We could compete in the top five in the race, although a podium this season still remains a desire. The characteristics of the track and the humid heat will make the race even more challenging.".
