Andrea Iannone ended the first day in Sepang with the twelfth fastest time. The Abruzzo rider from Team Pramac suffered from the lack of grip of his Desmosedici GP13 and even when braking, things didn't go any better. The heat certainly didn't help, but it was there for everyone. The word is up to him.

“We knew that this track was difficult for us, we suffer from the lack of grip and personally I struggle even when braking. The bike wags its tail, I can't stop and when I try to enter a corner it slips a lot, it has no grip, and I enter almost sideways. Analyzing the circuit I lose a lot in the first braking section and in the last corner, while in T2 and T3 we go decidedly better. Of course it's not enough and now let's see how we can improve for tomorrow. The heat doesn't help either, and it's more difficult than usual, but it's not a problem."
