German GP MotoGP Free Practice 2 – Weather protagonist in the second free practice session of the MotoGP class at the Sachsenring, ninth stage of the 2017 world championship.

The riders took to the track with rain tires and at the start of the session Jorge Lorenzo took the lead. Subsequently the rain stopped falling and Marc Marquez took the top of the standings with a time of 1:29.472.

However, the weather was still acting up and there was a real downpour, which forced the riders to run in very difficult conditions.

I'm not "satisfied" with what I've done, it's a pale sun and the positive news is that the new asphalt drains very well and that the trajectory soon dried out.

The times then dropped and the fastest at the end of the session was Hector Barberà who stopped the clock on the Team Avintia Ducati at a time of 1:28.115. The Spaniard preceded his Team Honda Repsol compatriots Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa.

Excellent fourth time for Danilo Petrucci (who should announce the renewal of his contract with Team Pramac on Sunday), who astride the Ducati GP17 is ahead of Aleix Espargarò's Aprilia and Cal Crutchlow's Team LCR Honda.

World championship leader Andrea Dovizioso is seventh, 0.638s off the top. Closing out the Top Ten are Jonas Folger with the best Yamaha, Sam Lowes with the second Aprilia and Jorge Lorenzo with the Ducati.

Valentino Rossi is still struggling, only fifteenth at 1.434s from Barberà. Worse than him is his team-mate Maverick Vinales, twentieth at 1.902. However, the two have a different situation in case FP3 were also wet. Vinales would in fact be in Q2, while Rossi would be forced to take part in Q1.

To forget once again the performance of Andrea Iannone, last at 2.444s. A debacle for the rider from Vasto which cannot be explained only by the poor feeling with the Suzuki.

The fastest in all conditions for now is Marquez.
In the wet in the afternoon he showed an extremely good pace with continuous progression, and in the dry I think he is the fastest, given that the time that the others did was done with the soft tire on the rear while Marquez was lapping with the hard tire on the rear. rear.
Maybe Pedrosa is the only one capable of following him whether it's dry or wet, I see it as tough for the others, maybe Marquez would have a few more opponents in wet conditions or on a track that changes due to the variable weather. In the dry I think he has no rivals for now.
