MotoGP Qatar: Viñales excellent 5th, “Positive first session”

Maverick Viñales MotoGP 2016 Qatar Team Suzuki – after being the Rookies of the Year 2015 and the surprise of the winter tests, Maverick Vinales 2016 is also definitely starting off on the right foot. The young Spaniard set the 5th fastest time (1'55.847) just 4 tenths from the top. This performance is even more positive considering that Maverick never mounted the soft tires, to save them for the rest of the weekend, even managing to stay with Valentino Rossi for several laps.

“Positive first session – he said Maverick Vinales – we started where we left off after testing and I have a lot of confidence with this bike. Today I tried just one set of tyres, hard, to check the consistency of the performance and save some softs for tomorrow. However, I constantly improved my lap times, setting the best lap on the last attempt, which was a very positive result from a race perspective. I have also tested the seamless gearbox in the complete version, but it is not 100% ready yet, although our goal is to have it as soon as possible, which is why we continue to work on it. It's only the beginning, but my feeling is positive and the improvements are consistent, which gives me excellent hopes for the next few days."
