MotoGP Qatar, Race: Nicky Hayden “It was a tough weekend, but we have time to improve”
Eighth place in the race for the American from Ducati who finishes in the wake of Dovizioso
Nicky Hayden finished the first race of the 2013 world championship held at night on the Losail circuit in Qatar in eighth position. Kentucki Kid knew that this would be a difficult race, but he wanted to thank the team for making the best GP13 of the weekend available to him specifically for the race. Here's what he said post-race.
“We knew it would be difficult. We improved a bit in the warm-up, and I have to thank the guys in the team because we made another change before the race and my GP13 was the best since we arrived here. I had my best lap of the entire weekend, and ran mostly at the same pace as my qualifying pace for the first part of the race. It would have been nice to gain another position, but I wasn't able to overtake Dovi because he was better than me in braking. It was a tough weekend, but we have time to improve.”

Come on guys come on!!!!
It would almost seem that Hayden has taken Rossi's place: worse qualifying, but then in the race they finish close. Yet this year will be better, he knows.
Let's hope..., I would be very happy if Ducati were competitive.
It will still take some time though...
I feel sorry for Hayden because he deserves a more competitive bike. Let's hope that sooner or later Ducati succeeds but I think it's tough...
for now the only way to allow Ducati to be competitive is to grant an increase in displacement like in SBK...
but if the Ducati engine is so good, why was there an engineer change?
why was it sold to the Germans?
A good race after a difficult qualifying. Well done Nicky!!
