Andrea Iannone MotoGP 2016 Qualifying Qatar Team Ducati - Andrea Iannone he closed qualifying at Losail in 4th place, 2 tenths of a second from Jorge Lorenzo's pole position. The driver from Vasto, author of the fastest lap in yesterday's free practice, was unable to lead this time but still showed important pace and consistency for the race today too. Today he was improving at the end of qualifying but was slowed down by traffic on the track, otherwise the front row was easily within his reach.

“It was a very positive qualifying – said Andrea Iannone – but unfortunately I found Redding on the line on the last lap and he slowed me down just when I was improving. I could have brought home a good pole position, but in the end these things can happen. However, I am very happy with what we did during the weekend and with the work we are carrying out because we were always very fast and constantly in the leading positions. FP4 also helped us understand something fundamental regarding the race, where I believe we will be competitive. Of course it would have been better to start from the front row, but in any case tomorrow we will try to recover immediately, from the first laps"
