Aleix Espargarò, riding the Forward Racing Yamaha Open, finished the Qatar GP in fourth place. After the double crash that occurred in yesterday's qualifying, the Spanish centaur ran an uphill race, given the start from the third row. At the beginning he was slowed down by the Ducatis of Doviziso and Crutchlow, but once they passed he was able to keep his pace. He has the microphone.

“I am happy with this result for me and the whole team. It was an uphill race because starting from the third row, I struggled a lot in the first laps to pass the two Ducatis, who had a nice advantage on the long straight. I didn't want to make any mistakes, so I kept calm. When I finally passed Andrea and Cal, it was too late to catch up with the leading group. A real shame, because I had the pace to fight with them. However, I am happy because we are fourth in the championship. I would like to thank my team and Colin for giving me some parts of his second bike to put together mine, which was completely destroyed after the two crashes yesterday.”

Looking at the times he didn't even have the pace to barely keep up with Pedrosa but okay it's already a great result, and perhaps the 2 bikes demolished in qualifying made him understand that if he wanted to finish the race that was the pace he needed to keep.

Not like Bautista who in his attempt to overtake Pedrosa ended up long and tight.
