Michelin MotoGP Gran Premio Movistar de Aragón – The world championship moves to Aragon for the fourteenth race of the season, a track unknown to Michelin, which therefore built its tires based on the technical data of the Spanish track.

The circuit is very technical, it runs anti-clockwise, is 5,077 km long and includes 17 corners, 10 on the left and 7 on the right with medium abrasive asphalt. The track is also characterized by fast corners alternating with sudden changes in direction with strong braking.

Michelin will bring soft compound front slicks with a white side band, medium (without band) and hard compound with a yellow band. The hard version will be double with the possibility of also using an asymmetric tire with the left shoulder reinforced. As for the rear, the compounds will be the following: medium slick (without band) and hard with yellow band. Both will be asymmetrical with a reinforced left shoulder.

As for wet tyres, the compounds will be soft (blue band), medium and intermediate (silver band).

“For the first time Michelin will face Motorland, a completely new challenge. Last year we tested here with some MotoGP riders, but the tires have changed and this weekend we will use new ones specifically designed for this event – he said Piero Taramasso, Head of the Michelin Motorsport two-wheeled group – Here the weather is unpredictable and furthermore the track has very fast and wide corners, but also some sharp braking and tight corners and therefore the tires will have to cope with both the temperature change that occurs from morning to afternoon and these characteristics. We know this is a technically demanding circuit, but we are up for the challenge. We hope it will be another exciting race!”
