Nicky Hayden will race his last race in Valencia with Honda, his large family and home with which he managed to win the world title in the MotoGP class in 2006. The American rider will in fact compete in 2009 as widely said with the Ducati GP9 alongside Casey Stoner and in place of Marco Melandri who will be riding a Kawasaki. For "Kentucki Kid" the weekend in Valencia will therefore be special and for this reason he is ready to give his best. The word is up to him.

“I really like Valencia and I like the atmosphere, it's always a special race in front of a Spanish crowd. It will be an emotional weekend. This team has been my family for the last six years. I was 21 when I came to Europe from Kentucky! I'm really grateful for the opportunity that Honda has given me. Not many people can say they raced with HRC for nine years. From the RC51 onwards, I have ridden many bikes and worked with great engineers. Valencia has a special place in my heart for obvious reasons. I like the way they built the track. I like it, it's big, fast, smooth. It's the last race of the year so I hope everything goes well. On the map it looks like a go-kart track. You need a bike that goes fast in corners and aggressive riding.”
