Shinya Nakano recharged his "batteries" after the Portuguese GP which ended in tenth position by going to his native Japan, also taking advantage of the fact that the next GP will be held in China. The Japanese centaur is confident especially after the post-GP tests in Estoril where, working with Brdigestone, he managed to find a tire with a good construction and a good compound. The objective will be to qualify as far ahead as possible, he has the say.

“At Estoril, after the Grand Prix, we tested some rear Bridgestone tyres, finding a good construction and a good compound: by combining these two factors together, I think we can be very competitive in Shanghai. The circuit is very fun: its main feature is represented by a very long straight, followed by a narrow and very slow hairpin, a point that is certainly difficult to interpret. Last year, on the first lap, another rider was unable to stop the bike and hit me right at that point, causing me to fall: the objective for this year is first and foremost to finish the first lap and see the checkered flag , because I don't have a very good memory of what happened! Jokes aside, I like the circuit: last year I had some good qualifying sessions. In the first three races of this season I have not yet managed to be incisive in qualifying, but I think I will be able to be so in Shanghai: it will be very important to follow the leading group closely from the start."
