MotoGP – Preview Sachsenring – Hayden: "I'm ready for the second half of the season"
Nicky Hayden can't wait to get back on track at the Sachsenring after the Donington Park debacle. The American rider (Team Honda Repsol) in fact finished in seventh place in the British GP, 25.764 behind the winner and teammate Dani Pedrosa. Hayden was never in the fight for the win and had found himself in difficulty since practice.
“We had a short break and I'm really looking forward to going to Germany, a track I quite like. In the first section it's very nice to follow the leader and you just have to be patient to pass there, but I really like the last part of the track. You downshift from fifth gear and the right curve feels good.
For the set-up of the bike it is important to have good grip on this circuit, something we have suffered a bit this year. There are still many races to go and the next races will be on tracks that I like, so I'm definitely ready for the second half of the season."
