MotoGP – Losail Preview – Capirossi aims for the podium

It will be an important year in every sense. The joy of becoming a father soon (in April), the desire to take Ducati to the top of the world, trying to win the title after 6 successes with the various evolutions of the Desmosedici from 2003 to today. Loris Capirossi, now "Capi-T-Rex", is not thinking about retiring (“One or two more years, then we'll see”), indeed, he relaunches his ambitions by leaving for Losail with a realistic minimum objective: the podium. On the other hand, historically Ducati has always done well in Qatar, with Capirossi poleman in 2005, second on the grid and third in the race in the last edition of the "desert" Grand Prix...

“This season is particularly important for me because I don't have many ahead of me yet, maybe one or two, maybe more but I'm not sure”, says Loris Capirossi. “This is why I am more determined than ever to do my best and the first race is very important. It's a great thing that we were able to try it in Qatar a few weeks ago. We prepared well during those tests and were able to put together some nice simulations. I think that in this first round we will be ready to fight for the podium. The track is ok both for the style of our bike and for our tyres. The fundamental thing we will need for the race will be to get a good feeling with the front, and this is therefore the point we will have to work hard on in Qatar. Agility will also be needed, for the numerous changes of direction, and from this point of view the GP7 is more manageable than the GP6"
