Shinya Nakano will live a dream this weekend at Laguna Seca, where the eighth round of the 2005 MotoGP world championship will take place. The Japanese rider of the Kawasaki with Bridgestone tires is in fact fascinated by the American circuit where Wayne Rainey and his team competed in the 90s. idol Kevin Schwantz, world champion of the 500 class in 1993. Here are his words.

“It's a dream to race at Laguna Seca. When I was a kid in Japan I watched on television Kevin Schwantz and Wayne Rainey compete here. Kevin is my idol, he was aggressive and fast, I really admire his way of racing. I played the Playstation to learn the circuit, although I used “Granturismo”, a 4-wheel game. It's a very technical track and 32 laps won't be easy. I will go around with the scooter first and I think the Kawasaki can have good potential here, we have strong acceleration and a good handling engine. I'll understand more after the first free practice."
