Olivier Jacque certainly expected more from this start of the 2007 season. The former world champion of the 250 class in fact scored only 4 points in the first two races held (Losail and Jerez) and only in the last tests in Jerez de la Frontera was he managed to improve his feeling with the new ZX-RR 800cc. The Jerez race had been defined as a "nightmare" by the transalpine driver but the post-race tests made him smile again.

“We haven't had much time to rest, in fact we've been working intensely since January and so this break served to recharge our batteries. I can't wait to get back on the bike, especially after the latest tests in Jerez. The race there was a nightmare for me but the post-race tests made me understand that we are on the right track. I can't wait to be able to test the new engine details in Istanbul. I like the track, with changes in gradient and a very fast first corner. We will need a great engine but we must not forget the last section which requires a lot of driveability. I don't know what we could achieve but I would be happy to finish the race in the Top Ten.”
