MotoGP – Preview Donington Park – Rossi: "It's one of my favorite circuits in the world"

Valentino Rossi wants to return to victory and he wants to do it on his second home track, Donington Park. In fact, Rossi lives in London and in Great Britain he can count on many fans who have already applauded him on seven occasions. The rider from Pesaro doesn't want to lose further ground from Casey Stoner who precedes him in the world standings by 14 points. The English track should suit the M1 very well and Rossi doesn't want to miss out on the top step of the podium.

“Donington is always like my second home race because I live near here in London – says Rossi – It's one of my favorite circuits in the world, I've had some good wins in the past, including my first 500cc win in 2000 after a tough battle with Jeremy McWilliams and Kenny Roberts. Last year I got injured after the problem in Assen but I still managed to finish second, a great result I think.

This year will be really tough with Casey Stoner and Dani Pedrosa going so fast at the moment. Even though Stoner has never done very well at this circuit in the past, I expect him to do well this year. Last year Dani won here so we expect him to want to fight too. However, it is a very beautiful, fun circuit, the straight isn't too long and the fans are wonderful so I hope to win again!”
