MotoGP Presentation Yamaha MotoGP 2018 – During the presentation of the new Yamaha MotoGP season, there was the announcement of the two-year renewal of Maverick Vinales. It was the pilot himself who announced it during his interview, he has the say.

“It was a nice break and I trained with great motivation. At Yamaha we share objectives and passions, it's like a family that shares the same sensations that I feel. I have a great feeling with them, I feel good here and it will be a pleasure to be fast and achieve the goal that we couldn't reach last year.”

What is the goal and how do you handle the pressure?

“The pressure is always positive, it helps you improve, it makes you be ready and eventually get the title. Which we will try to do by learning from last year's mistakes."

You train hard, will you change anything this year?

“We will try to push to be ready sooner. We worked on my weak points and we'll see how this is reflected on the bike."

Is the pressure greater than last year?

“The pressure one puts on oneself is to try to win the world championship, the desire and motivation are better.”

How long will it take to understand the new bike?

“It takes a lot of laps. last year we were fast straight away and maybe that wasn't the best thing. We are looking for a stable bike and it will be important to improve even in the rain. From the first lap you don't understand much. In Malaysia the asphalt is particular so we will have to turn."

If you could test the M1 on any track, which one would you choose?

“Phillip Island, it's a track that I like and at the moment there are the best conditions. But I'm also curious to try in Thailand, it will be a new challenge"

Vinales then announced the two-year renewal.

“I am very happy to continue with Yamaha, I feel good with them and I can announce that I have renewed for another two years.”
