MotoGP Phillip Island, Warm Up: Marquez ahead of Lorenzo and Iannone, Rossi is sixth
The reigning Honda champion preceded his compatriot Lorenzo by 0.159s
MotoGP 2015 Phillip Island Warm Up – Marc Marquez set the best time in the warm up of the Australian Grand Prix, which will take place in a few hours on the wonderful Phillip Island track.
The reigning Honda champion stopped the clock at a time of 1:29.344, a time that allowed him to precede his Yamaha compatriot Jorge Lorenzo by 0.159s, who in the championship trails the world championship leader Valentino Rossi by 18 points, sixth in this session 0.563s from the top.
Andrea Iannone did better than the Pesaro rider with the Ducati GP15 (3rd time), Dani Pedrosa with the Honda RC213V and Pol Espargarò with the Yamaha M1.
Closing out the Top Ten are Cal Crutchlow, Maverick Vinales, Scott Redding and Andrea Dovizioso, riding the second Desmosedici GP15.
Danilo Petrucci on the Ducati GP14.2 of Team Pramac is twelfth, immediately behind the excellent Hector Barberà (Ducati Open) and ahead of teammate Yonny Hernandez.
