Alvaro Bautista, Team Gresini rider, achieved the sixth fastest time on the first day of MotoGP free practice at Phillip Island. The Australian circuit characterized by wind and cold which complicated day 1 of the AirAsia Australian Grand Prix, however left the Spanish driver satisfied and he has the say.

“Today we worked intensely to improve the basic setting of the bike and this morning I had encountered problems exiting corners because the bike was moving a lot and consequently I wasn't able to apply full throttle on exit because it was too nervous. In the afternoon we changed a bit to try to solve the problems of the morning but we didn't succeed, in fact we noticed worsening and therefore we returned to the one of the morning and working on that basis we found positive sensations even if we know that we will have to work intensely on electronics and suspensions. It was important to find a basic setting on which to work and we are convinced that we made the right choice.”
