There is no end of twists and turns in the Phillip Island – Bridgestone soap opera. After yesterday the flag-to-flag procedure was decided by the management, given that the sole supplier did not guarantee more than 14 laps, the news arrives that the race has been reduced to 19 laps (out of the twenty-seven initially planned), because it is seen that the maximum number of laps that can be done safely is 10.

The riders will therefore be forced to change bikes between the ninth and tenth laps. In case of rain (not yet averted) the race will be stopped with a red flag. We will then start again to reach a total of nineteen laps, but with a maximum of 10 laps to do and a minimum of 5.
