MotoGP Phillip Island Race: Vinales, “Disappointed with the championship but satisfied with the race”

Australian GP Phillip Island MotoGP Yamaha Race – Maverick Vinales was a great protagonist at Phillip Island, where there was one of the best races in recent years, with seven riders battling it out with no holds barred. In the end it was Marc Marquez who prevailed, who preceded Valentino Rossi and Vinales himself, who had the say.

“I was saving myself for the last laps and the end of the race. I had a bit of contact with Zarco and Iannone and I finished eighth, then I recovered and got on the podium. I'm a little disappointed with the championship but happy with the race – said Maverick Vinales – I liked the tyre, I almost managed to pass Rossi and Zarco at the last corner. The goal now is to finish second in the championship, we will bring Yamaha to 100%, we still have work to do and today we took a step forward. It was a "street" race, all together, we all respected each other quite a bit." It was a difficult second part of the season, we are out of the world championship and we have to work to be second.”
