MotoGP – Phillip Island – Edwards makes the best lap of the weekend

Ninth position for Colin Edwards today in the Australian GP, ​​who leaves behind the big problems of the entire weekend with a small satisfaction: not having done worse. The setting of the M1 and the tires were completely changed, based mainly on Rossi's decisions, in the hope of overcoming the difficulties encountered in testing. After the first lap, when the American risked being thrown off, he tried to recover, clocking 1'31.9 and fighting to the finish line with Vermeulen, Checa and West. The word is up to him.

"After the problems we had throughout the weekend we changed the set-up and race tyres, adopting solutions more similar to those of Valentino, so I found myself in a rather different situation from the rest of the weekend. I got touched at the start and had to avoid a few riders, then I had a problem at the end of the first lap when I was almost thrown off my horse and lost a few positions. However, when I got used to the new setup it went well and at a certain point I managed to do 31.9, a lap time that I had never managed to do all weekend. Today I gave it my all and although I can't be happy with ninth place, after the nightmare of the whole weekend I think I could have done worse. It was great to have lots of friends and family here to cheer and I want to say a huge thank you to my team; They worked very hard to change the bike and as always they did a great job.”
