MotoGP – Phillip Island Day 1 – Eighth time for Andrea Dovizioso
Andrea Dovizioso ended the first day of free practice at Phillip Island with the eighth fastest time. The Forlì rider from Team Honda Repsol was unable to make full use of his Honda RC212V and wasn't even 100% physically fit. At this point he hopes that the weather will be good tomorrow too so that he can arrive at the race in the best possible conditions. The word is up to him.
“It was great to get on track today at Phillip Island, it's a fantastic circuit and racing here is always a great challenge. The track requires a completely different bike balance for the Bridgestone tires and we haven't quite managed to make the most of them yet, so I'm hoping for some improvements tomorrow. We have some areas to work on. We started today with our bike a little too "hard" and, even if we softened it during testing, I think we will continue on this path tomorrow. I didn't feel 100 percent today, but that didn't really affect the way I was able to ride the bike, and I hope to be in better shape tomorrow. We were lucky with the weather today and it would be nice if it stayed that way tomorrow too. However, we will be ready for anything. “
