Andrea Iannone MotoGP 2016 Motegi Team Ducati – Andrea Iannone will not be on track this weekend for the Japanese Grand Prix.

The Ducati rider is still struggling with recovery due to the fracture of the third dorsal vertebra, suffered in Misano during a fall which occurred in the first free practice sessions of the San Marino GP and the Riviera di Rimini.

Iannone underwent a series of tests last week which highlighted the almost total absorption of the edema and the beginning of the calcification process in the third dorsal vertebra, but his doctor still advised the rider to continue with the rehabilitation and to wait a few more days, and a further positive evolution of the healing process, before getting back on track.

In agreement with Ducati he therefore decided to skip the Motegi GP, in order to be able to return as best he could the following week at Phillip Island, scene of the Australian Grand Prix.

However, Iannone will not be replaced and the only official Ducati rider will be Andrea Dovizioso.
