MotoGP Mugello: Marc Marquez “Rossi and Lorenzo will be formidable opponents”

Marc Marquez arrives at Mugello after dominating the first part of the season. Five races run, five poles won and five victories! At Mugello he is aiming for sixth, even though last year he had one of the most difficult weekends of the season. He crashed both in practice and in the race, but he was second with a few laps to go. “Here I achieved my first victory in the 125 class, but last year I had one of the most difficult weekends of the season. In the race I had recovered the feeling, but unfortunately I crashed a few laps from the end. Now I come in with one more year and more experience, so hopefully it will be better.”

Do you think Rossi can fight for victory?

“Here Valentino will have many fans, 99% of the circuit will be “yellow” in color and therefore he will have an extra push. Then Jorge has won here for the last three years, so it's a good place for Yamaha. Jorge will also be strong"

What can you tell us about the circuit?

“It's a very beautiful circuit, but where you pay for every little mistake. If you miss a corner it is difficult for you to immediately recover the pace.”

Do you think the new, larger brake discs are needed here?

“I don't think so, there's just a big slowdown and in recent years we haven't had any problems.”

Someone has insinuated that your victories are the result of the torque meter, what do you say?

“When I won in the 125cc they said I had the best bike, when I won in the Moto2 everyone said it was down to the engine and now they say that. I tell him that Honda has been using this device for a long time and I'm not the only one who has it.”
