MotoGP Mugello: Danilo Petrucci 9th, “I'll have to grit my teeth”

GP Mugello MotoGP QP – excellent qualification for Danilo Petrucci who, in his second race after returning from his serious wrist injury, finished in 9th position ahead of his teammate Scott Redding.
However, the rider from Terni said he was worried about his physical resistance which was still decidedly compromised by the lack of training.

“I am very happy – he commented Danilo Petrucci – because going straight to Q2 was an excellent result. It was important to skip Q2 which was decidedly fast. I still miss it a lot because I'm not trained to ride a motorbike and I particularly suffer from changes in direction. My biggest worry for tomorrow will be my physical condition and I will have to grit my teeth to have a good race in front of my fans. Today I didn't take any medications, also because the biggest problem isn't the pain but the lack of strength. However, I am happy with the work done considering that it is only my second race - while the others have many more kilometers - and I achieved the best lap ever on this track. I didn't understand what happened with Iannone: I was behind him and he saw me while I was launching but at the first corner after the finish line he gave up, slowing me down."
