MotoGP – Motegi QP1 – Edwards thinks about the comeback
Despite today's tenth fastest time, “Texas Tornado” Colin Edwards is convinced he will do well in Motegi tomorrow. Thanks to a good set-up found for his Yamaha YZR M1, the Texan thinks he can race with the leaders. For this, however, a good start will be essential.
“I have qualified much better on other occasions but here I have a good race pace so nothing is compromised! To be honest, even though it doesn't look like much on paper, I'm very satisfied. The bike runs really well, we just didn't manage to adapt it well to the qualifying tire and, when we put it on, it overloaded the suspension, making the bike a little too soft. We'll have to think about that for next time. As far as race set-up is concerned, we're good: I think we have one of the best paces. Obviously it's annoying to start from the fourth row but I think I'll be able to move up the group quickly and then give it my all. I'm very excited for tomorrow: I want to get a good result."
