Danilo Petrucci did not have a good qualifying at Motegi, the scene of the penultimate stage of the 2013 world championship. The rider from Terni of the Came Iodaracing Team in fact had a problem with bike #1 which did not allow him to take advantage of the tires available. He will start from the sixth row having obtained sixteenth place, very close to the time set by Andrea Iannone with the Ducati.

“I could have done better than sixteenth place, I'm sure. The problem is that my number one bike broke down and therefore I wasn't able to make the most of the tires available. One of the two sets of tires remained on the bike that stopped, so once I ran to the garage, I had to do qualifying with bike number two and with only one set of tires available. I'm sorry to start so far behind because I'm sure I could have gained at least one row if the engine of my good bike hadn't suddenly broken."
