Danilo Petrucci was present today at the press conference that precedes each Grand Prix. The Iodaracing rider from Terni spoke about the help that Aprilia will give him in this race. Help from a technical point of view, in fact Paolo Biasio, Marco Melandri's chief technician (with whom he has already worked and who knows Marelli) and Paolo Bonora will be present in the garage. A help that he seems to have only for this race and which perhaps arrives too late. The recent Misano test where the 2013 and 2014 bikes were compared clearly highlighted the electronics problem, given that with the APX control unit (the Aprilia one) the "Petrux" claimed to have lapped more than a second below the time recorded with this year's bike. The word is up to him.

“Aprilia noticed the problems we have and sent two technicians from the Superbike department. One is Paolo Biasio, Marco Melandri's chief engineer, with whom I worked and who knows Marelli, the other Paolo Bonora. Surely with one race we won't be able to solve all the problems, also because even at "home" they have a lot of work to do, but we will try to improve our position, which does not reflect our potential. For me and for the Team it would be important to get a good result.”

Will this help only be here in Misano?

“For the moment yes, there is no plan to continue on this path. There is the hope of creating a good basis to finish the season in the best possible way.”

Were you hoping to get this help sooner?

“During the season there were not so much misunderstandings, but rather an overlapping of problems that hid the electronics problem, which wasn't thought to be that big. During the Misano tests we compared last year's bike with this one and saw that there is still a lot to do and that more help was needed."

But could one of the two coaches stay for the next races?

“There is hope and I hope they give me a strong hand. There's a big difference between the two bikes, we're talking about seconds, not tenths.”

Your future? Have you accepted the role of Aprilia test rider?

“I haven't decided yet, I have various options including Moto2 and Superbike. I am 23 years old and I would like to continue racing.”

Isn't Moto2 a little too tight for you?

“I'm not far from the target, even in the wind tunnel I saw how I'm not far from Redding (who raced in Moto2 last year). “
