GP Misano MotoGP Day 1 – Danilo Petrucci wanted to pay homage to the earthquake victims of Central Italy with a special edition of his helmet that he will wear during the Misano Grand Prix.
On the top of the cap you can see the hand of a rescuer grasping that of an earthquake victim, accompanied by the phrase "Shaken, but united". The reverse instead depicts a tree that is reborn from the rubble, a sign of life starting again.

“In Misano – he explained Danilo Petrucci – for us Italian riders, it is normal to arrive with helmets with slightly particular graphics, and I was thinking about mine during the days of the earthquake and I no longer felt like joking. This is why I preferred to personalize it by sending a message of solidarity.
After the race the helmet will be auctioned on eBay and the proceeds will be donated to help earthquake victims."

As regards the first day of free practice, the Pramac Ducati rider finished with only the 12th time, perhaps also slowed down by the disastrous fall he suffered at the start of FP1. Here are his words:

“We were honestly shocked by the fact that the hard rear tire didn't work. And this has created difficulties for us as we are unable to use it in the best way. We put the soft tire on the last three laps but there wasn't time to be effective. However, I'm confident: I like shooting here. We are suffering the comparison with the official bikes in the last GPs. But here I think we can get closer."
