MotoGP Misano: Andrea Dovizioso “I got within 3 thousandths of a podium, which was a shame, but the bike was bad in the race”

Andrea Dovizioso finishes in 4th place the Misano grand prix and once again he fails to dispel the taboo of his home track where he has never reached the podium in MotoGP. This time Dovi was left "without chamapagne" by just 3 thousandths, a photo finish was needed to see between him and Bautista who had won the sprint for third place. However, Andrea continues to confirm himself with a satellite bike among the leaders and now, unlike his first years in MotoGP, when there is a fight and to make moves the Forlì native is always there.

“It's a shame I was one step away from the podium – Dovizioso said to SportMediaset – but I didn't succeed by just 3 millimeters, they are very few. Honestly, I'm disappointed with the race, I couldn't push like in practice, I gave 100% but I had to change my riding style during the race. It could have been a 2nd place race, too bad. I couldn't feel the front, I couldn't brake hard because it was closing in on me, I was at the limit and I gritted my teeth until the end to fight for the podium but it wasn't enough. Of course, it didn't help that we tested very little, the Ducati did a great job in the tests and it showed in the race. Rossi then rode very well, he wasn't faster than us but he rode well and didn't give us anything away. Obviously for my future I'm pleased to see Ducati up front, but they took advantage of the test since we didn't test"

  • The photo finish was crazy! I'm still not convinced which bike was in front! ^_^
Too bad for Dovi but great result for the Gresini team, it's been a long time since they've been on the podium!
However, the man from Forlì was great for throwing himself so badly into the last corner!
    Go Dovi!!!

As usual the usual little comment is not on his performance but on the fact that Rossi did the test and therefore behind the lines we read...'if he hadn't been able to test the week before I would have finished second'. Meanwhile you didn't even finish third. If Stoner and Pedrosa had been there then you would have finished sixth!

In my opinion, deep down he was happy as Easter (not with the result obviously).

Inside he must have said to himself: let's go there..., the old guy and the Ducati are second, I wasn't even able to worry them.

Between now and the end of the year, Dovi will obviously try to take away third place in the world championship from Casey (very difficult in my opinion) but he will certainly support Vale and Ducati, hoping to always find them in front...
