MotoGP Motorcycle World Championship 2017 – Marc Marquez is accused of being a rider who often tends to fall, although to be honest the majority of falls always occur in practice, when the Honda champion seeks the limit of his RC213V; something that also happened in the last qualifying sessions in Aragon, where however on Sunday he dominated, taking home the fifth victory of the season and the solitary top of the world rankings. An explanation, however, comes from the statistics and from colleagues at Marca.com, who analyzed the falls divided by manufacturer.

The five Honda riders have fallen 64 times since the beginning of the year up until Aragon, for an average of 12.8. Almost one fall per race and Dani Pedrosa is already at 9, when his record was set last year, 10 falls in 18 races.

The 8 Ducati riders crashed 67 times, with an average of 8,3 per race, while the 4 Yamahas had a total of "only" 24 crashes, six per rider. All Honda riders complained about the instability of the RC213V 2107, from Marquez to Rabat.

What makes the difference at the moment is Marquez himself, who is deservedly leader of the world championship, a world championship which, however, we remember is not over yet and which sees our Andrea Dovizioso 16 points behind the Spaniard, with four races still to go.

Marquez seeks the limit and often does so by falling because up to now he has never hurt himself, this allows him to have an advantage over the others, when he starts to hurt himself and I don't wish it on him then he will dare less and his competitiveness will change .

at Misano I saw him fall on his last qualifying lap... when the bike went down I gasped in fear, it's never good... a moment later (because they are moments), he made me laugh, it sounded like comedians, while he was rubbing his body on the ground, with his hand he was trying to give himself a jerk to get up, and he did it 2 or 3 times…. After this episode, I think it's him who knows how to act instinctively when the bike lets him down...

As long as you fall on your front foot the risk of getting hurt is very low, the bad thing is when you fall on your back foot and are thrown to great heights.

Marquez falls a lot... but how many times does he really risk? He always gives me, or almost, the impression of knowing what he's doing, as if he were really testing the limit.
However these statistics leave the time they find... the Hondas are ridden by Marquez, Crutchlow and Miller who are a guarantee when it comes to crashes

Marquez's really bad crashes that I remember are a couple, one at the end of the Mugello straight and the one in Misano, for the rest there are a lot of slides with the bike now lying down, in this way he tests the limits of the bike based on the asphalt and climatic conditions then in the race he always comes close to that limit.
there are those who are truly afraid that one day they might get hurt, there are those who love this style and there are those who are dying of envy because they haven't hurt themselves yet, for me it's a phenomenon...
