MotoGP: Marc Marquez, “I'm happy, I expected to be further away from the Yamahas”
The #93 of the Repsol Honda Team will start from the front row in the Japanese GP
Marc Marquez MotoGP 2016 QP Motegi Honda Repsol – Marc Marquez will start from the front row of the Japanese Grand Prix, which will take place tomorrow on the Motegi circuit. The leader of the world championship standings set the second fastest time, behind poleman Valentino Rossi and ahead of his compatriot Jorge Lorenzo. In the last two attempts an error and a yellow flag slowed him down. He has the microphone.
“I'm very happy with how this weekend is going, on this track I expected to be further away from the Yamahas and instead we are very close – said Marc Marquez – I couldn't fight for pole for two reasons: my mistake and then the yellow flags waved for Crutchlow's fall.”
Do you already have a clear choice of tires for the race?
“I would say yes, medium compound at the front and soft at the rear, I think the majority of riders opt for these solutions. As regards the race pace, this morning I was very fast, less so in the afternoon, where the Yamahas seemed in better shape."
