It goes to Jorge Lorenzo there pole position of the first MotoGP race of 2012. The Majorcan managed to lead Casey Stoner's Honda by 2 tenths, relegating the reigning champion to second position. Big celebrations for Jorge at the end of the qualifying round for having repeated the pole he obtained in his debut race in MotoGP in 2008 on the Qatar track
“I am very happy with this result – Lorenzo said – I pushed more than 100% to do the perfect lap and get this pole. Now we still need to increase the power on the straight and our top speed but on the rest of the track the bike works very well. Tomorrow will be a very tough race and I think the tires will play a very important role. I have to thank Yamaha for giving me a great bike.”
