The qualifying session was a complicated one for Casey Stoner, who once again had chattering problems with his Honda RC213V. After leading the timesheets for almost the entire session, he eventually finished second with a time of 1'54.855, 2 tenths behind Jorge Lorenzo. The Australian is not satisfied and is hoping for the warm up to put the situation back in order. The word is up to him.

“I'm not happy with these qualifying sessions, they should have gone much better for us, especially with the soft tire that we hadn't used in the previous practice sessions. Last night we were very happy with the progress made and the setup in general. Today we tried to improve that set up, but things got worse and worse. In the finale we reviewed everything and returned to the basis we had on Thursday night, but we again had enormous chattering problems. Now we have a lot of work to do to try to understand what happened and identify the problem before the race. If we are able to make a big step forward in the warm up, then we can aspire to the podium and perhaps fight for the victory, otherwise a long and very demanding race awaits us.”
