MotoGP – Losail QP1 – Lorenzo satisfied with the front row

Although he won pole position on his MotoGP debut last year, Jorge Lorenzo can still be satisfied with the front row he secured in the official qualifying for the 2009 edition of the Losail Grand Prix. The Fiat Yamaha rider had in fact some problems in choosing tires for the race, and moreover he had been used to running Michelins in qualifying for some time, not exactly the soft single-tyre Bridgestone compounds.

“After taking pole here in my first MotoGP Grand Prix last year, I'm happy to at least be on the front row!”, comments Jorge Lorenzo. “It will be important, because a difficult match awaits us. During the tests I was faster on the hard tyre, but for some reason now the situation is the opposite and I am much faster on the soft. With the hard one we still have a few things to resolve, which is a problem because it is the coverage we will have to use in the race. Now what we need is to work head-on to try to solve them over the course of the night. Tomorrow I don't want to think about winning, but only about doing the best I can and taking as many points as possible, taking into account the circumstances. Obviously, however, you never know what could happen in the race.".
