MotoGP – Losail QP1 – Edwards: "We're on the right track"

Third row for Colin Edwards in MotoGP qualifying in Qatar. A so-so result on a track, Losail, loved by the American rider, where he would have gladly aspired to many other positions but, anyway (and we don't find out), Yamaha hasn't solved all the problems.

“We have definitely improved the bike compared to yesterday and even this morning” Edwards said. “We are still struggling a little with the vibration problem but it is gradually reducing. I think we are on the right track in fine-tuning. Tomorrow morning we will try some small changes but the line between what could work and what is definitely better not to be done is very thin so we have to be very careful not to take steps backwards. My race pace is ok but, I won't lie, it was hard work. I would be very happy if the others maintained the pace in 1'57 but I fear that we will have to drop to 1'56 to finish ahead in the race. It will be tough but if we can take a small step forward in the warm up, we will be ready."
