MotoGP – Losail FP2 – Stoner and Rossi in the lead

The second and final free practice session of the MotoGP in Losail confirmed the values ​​shown yesterday on the field, with Casey Stoner in front of everyone even if Valentino Rossi, right at the end, managed to get a few thousandths closer (96 to be precise). The Australian, author of the best lap in 1'56"310, seemed fast and constant for a classification that was more compact than usual at the checkered flag.

Behind Stoner and Rossi we find Loris Capirossi on Suzuki less than three tenths away, followed by Jorge Lorenzo and a surprising Marco Melandri, fifth with the ex-Kawasaki today fielded by the Hayate Racing Team. The rider from Ravenna took only 8 tenths from Stoner, preceding the factory Honda of Dovizioso, Vermeulen, Edwards and De Puniet to close the top ten.

Alex De Angelis was only eleventh ahead of Dani Pedrosa who reduced the gap from the top to 2″, with Nicky Hayden 15th stopped by the engine failure of his Ducati. At the bottom of the ranking are Niccolò Canepa and Sete Gibernau, last at almost 4 seconds.
