After announcing the 2021 line-up with Maverick Vinales and Fabio Quartararo, a little while ago, through an official press release, the Iwata team made it known that the team's new test rider will be the five-time world champion, Jorge Lorenzo. The Majorcan will take to the track already in the tests in Malaysia scheduled from 2 to 4 February.

Statements Jorge Lorenzo, Monster Energy Yamaha Test Team

“I am very happy with the decision to join the Yamaha Factory Test Team. My desire was to stay in the MotoGP environment, to return to the paddock, and I think this is a suitable role for me. I know the team and the M1 well. The Yamaha really suited my riding style and it will be very interesting to find myself with my old bike again. Returning to Yamaha brings with it some good memories. We have achieved many podiums, victories and three titles together, so we know where our strengths are. I want to thank Yamaha for this opportunity, because this allows me to do what I love: ride a motorbike and push the limits and in the meantime, enjoy a slightly quieter lifestyle than in previous years.
I'm very motivated to get to work and can't wait to start riding. I want to do my best for Yamaha's future and I hope that my riding experience will be useful to Yamaha engineers and riders to regain the world title."

For me he was wrong, I would never go back to someone who did everything to make me leave by treating me like a fish because now they need my help, but sorry but Jorge said it.

As usual, you distort the facts by talking about non-existent things, this is why it's not worth replying to you or discussing things with you, Lorenzo left of his own accord, Yamaha was pissed after what he did in 2015 last three races I think it's inevitable and I'm talking about the statements against Rossi, pointing the finger at the podium, resorting to events that happened in which he had nothing to do, he did all sorts of things because he was afraid that he wouldn't be able to win the world championship and you attached to Rossi's straws for 24 years to grind the zebedees with every article that comes out. You are truly ridiculous…. After that I agree with Yamaha's decision regarding the contracts of Vinales and Quartararo. Good life…
