Andrea Dovizioso the Le Mans grand prix ends 7th, after fighting until the end for the podium with Rossi and Stoner and having crashed a few laps from the end, still managing to restart and finish in the top ten. The Forlivese traveled throughout the race glued to Rossi and Crutchlow, with the trio who put on a show between them, but then first Cal and then Dovizioso had to abandon the fight for the podium due to two falls.
At Sport Mediaset Dovizioso said:

“It's a shame about the fall. My tires were completely worn out, I had little traction compared to Rossi and Cal right from the start and I had to brake very hard to stay with them. I wanted the podium, I saw that Casey was there too and in fact at the end Rossi and I were catching it, so I wanted to try until the end. There is falling into these conditions , but I'm happy not for the result but because I was there in front until the end. I approached the very first and I'm sure that with a dry race I was very fast. Yesterday I saw that the pace was excellent and if I didn't lose those 5 minutes at the end of the session I could take pole. However we are improving a lot, now let's see how we fare in Barcelona. It was nice to battle with Rossi, I am one of those riders who has never doubted his abilities, today he showed that he can make the difference, but his bike is still behind Yamaha and Honda."

it's a shame for him, I'm very sorry. considering the pace he managed to keep behind Rossi, maybe he would have managed to get on the lowest step of the podium.. you're strong Dovi, keep going!!

I would have bet that, after Cal's crash, he would have finished fourth, commenting smugly on his consistency. Instead he finally tried.
