MotoGP Laguna Seca, Free Practice: Valentino Rossi “Positive first day but I need to improve the feeling in acceleration and braking”
The Pesaro native closed the first day on the Texan track with the 4th fastest time
Valentino Rossi he closed the first day of free practice at Laguna Seca with the 4th time, 3 tenths behind a surprising Marc Marquez. The Pesaro native was among the protagonists in both sessions, closing FP1 with the second fastest time, while in the afternoon session he was also first for a long time. Overall the feeling with the bike is good, but as stated by the nine-time world champion there is still work to be done to improve the feeling in acceleration and braking, his strong point in the race.
“I'm quite satisfied with this first day – said Valentino Rossi – it wasn't bad and I was with the leaders in both sessions. It's really difficult to find the best setting on this track. It's a very physical track and Sunday will be a really long race. I feel pretty good on the bike but we have several things to try to improve especially in weight balance, braking and acceleration. We are working to improve our performances, however we are not far from the top even if we have not reached it yet. I hope that tomorrow we can improve and find a better balance to go even faster and find a good rhythm."
